IISME exists to address the critical need for a strong, highly-skilled workforce in mathematics, science and technological fields. This industry-education partnership focuses on teachers as the primary agents for effecting meaningful change in education. IISME offers a number of industry-based professional development opportunities for K-16 teachers in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. In 2008 IISME is partnering with Linking Education and Economic Development (LEED) to offer Fellowships to high school teachers in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties.
